Momo Mama!

Prejudice.
It afflicts us all.
Let's be honest. We all have a little bit of something that we're prejudiced about.

This is hard for me, my loyal readers, but I'm going to tell you what my prejudice is.

For years, I've been prejudiced towards Nepalese people.

I think it's because my mother didn't breast feed me as a child so I never got to see her Nepals.

HA!

Seriously though. Most people think of the Nepalese as mountain climbers, but did you know that they can make dumplings too?

In Jackson Heights, Queens, I recently discovered an amazing Momo, or dumpling shop.

Bhim's Cafe.

They sell all sorts of stuff.

Now I know that I use the word "amazing" here quite a bit. Let's be honest, my vocabulary is a bit....I can't think of the right word, but you know what I mean.

But for real, these dumplings are one of the best things that I've had in a really really really long time.

It takes about 10 or 15 minutes to get your order, because they make them fresh.

Here they are before they've been devoured.

Aren't they cute?

When you open them up you'll see a wonderful mixture of cabbage, carrots, cilantro, ginger and spices. This is what life's about. This and making lots of money! And fooling ourselves into believing we'll find lasting true love! And foot fetishes!

They give you this awesome creamy orange sauce to put on the dumplings. It's a little spicy and a little sweet.

Here are my dumplings after they've been "sauced."

8 dumplings and a bottle of water is 6 dollars.

Best deal in town.

And when you leave you can see a picture of my two favorite people!
